In some ways, 2012 has been one of my worst years yet. But in many others it’s also been one of my best. Here are a few of my happy photographic memories — along with my wishes for a very happy, very healthy year ahead. Cheers!

In January, we rang in the new year with our Grand Canyon hitchhiking friends.

In March I sought refuge from the cold and gray with a Como Conservatory photo safari.

April brought the first signs of spring to Minnesota …

In May, I enjoyed a frenzied, footsore week of food and fun in Freiburg.
And in the middle of it all, I somehow squeezed in a trip to Strasbourg.

In June, I made a sordid confession: I am an *awful* street photographer!

July inspired a love letter to my husband. I also had my radio debut.
August brought the introduction to the perfect stranger.

… and with September came another European shooting spree. In October I posted only once, about a man named Felix Baumgartner.

And in November, I paused to give thanks.
Now it’s December, when nature paints in silvers and grays. But tomorrow will bring the promise of another day … and another year.
